Must-see
I was in Victoria from the 26th to the 30th of June. 2 days are enough to see the most important things.
Day 1: Since Victoria is not really big, you can walk everywhere. We started from our hostel (–> Ocean Island Inn ). Our first stop was at the harbour. Fantastically beautiful by day, but also by night. I really can recommend watching the sunset from there. For lunch grab some fish and chips at red fish blue fish. It´s the best fish and chips you can get. At lunchtime you have to expect a long waiting line. We waited more than one hour, but it is worth it. Walking along the coast you get to the cute little fisherman´s wharf. It´s not really big but in my opinion it is worth seeing. The colourful house boats are beautiful. There, we took a short break and grabbed a coffee. Nice place to relaxe and watch the waterplane departing and debarking. After a while we kept walking along the coast to James Bay. It´s a beautiful landscape and the view over the sea is overwhelming. We ended up in beacon hill park. A wonderful park. If you got to Victoria you have to go there. Victoria is a really natural place. If you want to get out of the busy city you only have to walk 10 minutes then you can relax in the park. As a snack i really recommend the beavertails. It´s so good.
Day 2: If you are tired of breakfast from the hostel, I recommend Mo: Le. The breakfast was really good and not too expensive. Afterwards we went by public bus to the butchart gardens. There you felt like in paradise. It was amazingly beautiful. Thousands of different flowers with different colours. Just amazing! We spent there one and a half hour. You can stay longer. It depends on you and how much you want to enjoy the flowers.
For dinner there are many possibilities to go.
I liked Victoria really well, because it was a quiet place with a beautiful harbour. In the park you can rest, but you are not far away from the city center. If you need a break, you can walk beautifully along the coast.
