Private Bearwatching – Tour
„Oh my god, there he is, my first bear. In a clearing at the grazing. We discovered him early. His head lost in the fresh green grass. Suddenly his head starts and he stares in our direction. He starts to run, towards the road we drove. Darrly pressed the accelerator and we get speed. We did not see him until he suddenly crossed the street in front of us.“
Carly refused to return to Germany without seeing a bear. „I could not have spent 8 months in Canada without seeing a single bear!“ I had to agree. That does not work, so we asked Darrly and Paulette if they would go out with us to look for a bear. After dinner, Darrly finally said that now is the best time to go see animals. So, let’s go. We drove straight into nowhere. It was so incredibly quiet and so wonderful. First we saw the bear in the clearing. A black bear, which then disappeared in the forest. Later, however, we saw exactly the same left on the edge of the forest. These bears are extremely shy, so it is very difficult to photograph them. However, we were able to take some photos. After a while driving through the forest we discovered a skeleton of a moose.
When it was dark, we made our way home, hoping to meet another animal. And that was the case. Focusing on the forest, I saw a moose running over a clearing. I just screamed. Darrly braked and jumped out of the car. Unfortunately, the moose had already run away. However, that we could see him from the road, showed again how big these animals are. Gigantically big. You really don´t want to meet such an animal on a walk. In the end, when it got dark, we saw some deers on the clearing, but that wasn´t that interesting for me, because I am used to see them at home almost every day.
